Homeward via Port Macdonnell

Friday 26 April, 2019

All good things must come to an end and our South Australian road trip was on its last legs. Rather than drive all the way back to Melbourne from McLaren Vale (an eight hour drive) we stopped approximately halfway just before the Victorian border. Had to catch a funny little car ferry to cross the Murray river at Wellington.

We stayed in a little seaside town called Port Macdonnell and didn’t really expect too much so was really surprised how absolutely beautiful the beach was – way too cold for swimming at that time of year but really spectacular.

It was a very windy day, you can hear on the video the wind whipping across the camera microphone - made the swell look really cool.

Port Macdonnell is the most southerly point of South Australia.
